ABOUT

Maya Berry, a native of Washington, D.C., began her performance training at the age of six with local acting troupes, including the Young Actors Theater in Reston, Virginia, and has remained active in performance ever since.

After graduating from South Lakes High School in as the Student Commencement Speaker for the Class of 2022, she continued pursuing her passion for the arts—particularly acting—at the University of Virginia, where she is a candidate for her Bachelor of Arts and Sciences in Drama and Media Studies with a concentration in Film Studies and a minor in English Literature.

As she approaches the final semester of her undergraduate studies, Maya has written, produced, and performed an original short film; acted in over four university stage productions; and contributed to the Alliance Community Winning Podcast, She Wrote Plays.

She is currently employed by the University of Virginia School of Law as a Situational Actor. She has maintained a place on the Dean's List every semester at UVA, with a current GPA of 3.94. Maya is also preparing to appear as Angela/Millie in Sarah Ruhl’s Stage Kiss at Live Arts Theater in Charlottesville, directed by Bob Chapel.
